Make a Difference Today
We have lots of jobs that our volunteers can do. Our two main roles are working with the horses and working with the riders. Hutt Valley Riding for the Disabled recruits and inducts all new volunteers. Each volunteer is needed for one day a week, for up to 4 hours a day. While this can be the same day each week, this can vary depending on your availability. Our volunteers work closely together and form wonderful friendships with each other and a unique and satisfying relationship with our riders. The joy of seeing a rider achieve even a simple task is heart warming.
We also need assistance with things like volunteer management, health & safety and fundraising.
Hutt Valley RDA is associated with Volunteer Wellington https://volunteerwellington.nz... who support us by organising corporate groups to come and lend a hand for a day or finding us regular volunteers.
We offer further training as needed, and offer a wonderful environment to work in. People become empowered by their own unique and varied abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential.
